Sofie De Pourcq

Sofie De Pourcq started studying at the KU Leuven Campus Kulak Kortrijk. After two years there, she continued her studies at the Universiteit Gent, where she obtained her Master degree in law 2012 (magna cum laude). During the first term of the academic year 2010-2011, she studied at the Université Catholique de Louvain in the context of the Erasmus Belgica exchange programme.

From September 2012 to August 2018, she has been working as a full-time research assistant at the Institute for Consumer, Competition & Market of the KU Leuven. During her PhD, she gave lectures at various national and international conferences and published several academic articles and contributions. In 2014, she was awarded the TPR-prize for the comparative law article on the responsibility of bookingsites for wrongful reviews. Moreover, she gave seminars on "Judicial Writing" to the students of the KU Leuven.

On 13 September 2018, she defended her PhD on the protection of businesses against unfair commercial practices in the contractual relationship (supervisor: prof. Dr. Evelyne Terryn; co-supervisor: prof. Dr. Bert Keirsbilck).

She joined IP Porta in September 2018. She attaches great importance to using clear language when expressing the legally correct solution.
